10 Years Ago Today

I don’t know about you, but I often listen to a current single and think back what the single would have done 10 years ago from the time I was listening to them. So, I decided to look back on the January 9th song from 1999. Does anyone remember what that hit was?

Many people may not remember, but starting on January 2nd (of 1999), R&B crooner Deborah Cox made it onto the charts with an amazing song called “Nobody’s Supposed To Be Here”. The single stayed on the chart with an amazingly 6 weeks  on the charts.

But what took Cox’s place? Whitney Houston’s “Heartbreak Hotel” featuring Faith Evans and Kelly Price. They ripped through the charts for 7 straight weeks.

Who knew that 10 years down the road, music would have changed so much?

I agree. Its amazing how fast ten years can go by, and to realize how many things have changed in such a small amount of time.

Oh yea. From “baby-making” songs to songs that are just raunchy and raw. Who knew.
